CADS Science Documentary
A visual approach to science and storytelling
CADS Science Documentary began as an effort to bring science closer to people through visual storytelling. What started as a way to communicate research beyond the lab has grown into a multidisciplinary collaboration working at the intersection of ocean science, wildlife health, and visual narratives. Together, we document how change unfolds across marine ecosystems, connecting scientific research with the lives of the species and communities that depend on them.
Carlos Dominguez-Sanchez
Photographer - Drone Pilot
Veterinarian, marine mammal health researcher, and director of CADS Science Documentary.
His work explores how ocean change shapes wildlife health across systems, integrating microbiome science, field research, and visual storytelling to reveal connections between species, environments, and the people who depend on them.
Marina Banuet-Martinez
Photographer - Interviewer
Microbiologist, Ph.D. in Epidemiology and Public Health, and postdoctoral researcher at the University of Alberta.
She leads the One Blue Health Research Group and studies how health is shaped across ecosystems, combining research and photography to explore connections between environment, disease, and fishing communities.
Luis Soto Garcia
Videographer - Editor
Biologist with a Master’s in Animal Science, and founder of Catiri Media and co-funder of Holobionte Films, an audiovisual production company in Mexico.
His work focuses on visual storytelling, producing compelling narratives that translate scientific research into accessible and impactful stories.
Arturo Hernades Velazco
Underwater videographer
Marine biologist working with COBI (Mexico), and conservation documentarian.
His work captures underwater ecosystems and conservation efforts, documenting how ocean change affects biodiversity and the communities working to protect it.
